Twenty-eight homes on old Route 66
Four existing houses on old Route 66 and the adjacent Inola Street in Glendora are being replaced by 28 new detached single-family homes — a tract map project on 3.7 acres called Mountain View Crossing. Every home is built for individual sale, not rent.
What's proposed
- 28 detached, two-story single-family homes
- Roughly 1,500 to 2,500 sq ft, 3–4 bedrooms each
- Built on 3.7 acres assembled from three parcels along Route 66 and Inola Street
- Subdivided for individual sale under Vesting Tentative Tract Map 84970
How it got here
The application needed a Vesting Tentative Tract Map (No. 84970) to subdivide the assembled parcels into 28 saleable lots, plus a Development Plan Review, filed under case number PLN25-5043. An SB 330 early-vesting application let the applicant lock in the zoning and development standards in place at filing. CEQA review used a categorical exemption for in-fill development under Guidelines section 15332 — the site is already served by utilities, surrounded by urban development, and not environmentally sensitive.
The Planning Commission held its hearing June 2, 2026, and recommended approval to the City Council on a 4-1 vote. A City Council public hearing was noticed for June 23, 2026. The exact Council vote date and tally have not been confirmed against signed minutes; the city's own development tracker lists the project as Approved.
What this means if you live nearby
Four older houses on Route 66 are set to become 28 new detached homes for sale, not rent — a for-sale tract project is a different kind of neighborhood change than the apartment infill more common elsewhere in the valley right now. Construction timing is not yet established in the public record.
